Thanks, Bien! Happy Easter to you too! :)

I just want the chocolate PB eggs. But next week I'm doing something that I have never done before. I will be celebrating a Jewish Passover with some friends. So I encourage ALL to do something knew, just to learn something.

I love peanut butter! Very cool of you to check out a passover gathering. A wiccan friend of mine is educating me about her celebration of the earth's renewal, and of the "wind moon" tonight. It's always interesting to expand horizons. I hope you have fun. :)

I'm celebrating by listening to the soundtrack of Godspell. I guess that kind of dates me.

:D Happy Easter Bien. I like this holiday. I've never tried that thing where you make a hole in the top and bottom of an egg and try to blow out the middle to make it hollow for painting, I'm going to give it a shot on tuesday. Fingers crossed.

Happy Easter to you all.
I am celebrating by avoiding chocolate all together.
The size of some of them are just too much for anyone's digestive system.:frown5:

Happy Easter, Passover, Wiccan Wind Moon renewal, or whatever you celebrate, if anything. I will be visiting my mother this weekend since it is her birthday.

Would someone please share some information about the Wiccan Wind Moon renewal? I don't know much about Wicca. What is its origin?

Happy Easter to one and all. For me it marks the resurrection of my Lord and Savior. Sometimes that gets buried in eggs, chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, etc. But it is one more day that most of us will still be here to see and enjoy. So have the greatest day of your life and be thankful for family and friends! Save me some jelly beans, I admit that they are a guilty pleasure! Don't eat too much, and be sure to hug your children or parents. God bless!

Happy Easter wishes.
Take a moment to smell the lilies of the field.

Haha. It's not a wind moon renewal. I only have information about this through word of mouth, so my retelling might be filled with inaccuracies.

Wiccans have names for the cycles of the moon. This full moon is the wind moon. From what my friend says, it just symbolizes change. I don't know if there is any official celebration for the moon.

When I said she is celebrating the earth's renewal, I just meant she's celebrating spring. She's planning on going to a may fair. From what I understand, there will be a picnic, live music, singing, dancing, and she'll say prayers or incantations in her circle for a fruitful year. There's also going to be an egg hunt and an Easter bunny type character costumed person. She said they do may pole dances, mostly for fun, but the dances symbolize fertility. Fertility for people and for the earth. She very much loves the earth. It's nice.

I don't know much about wicca either, but my friend is a very spiritual person who always seems to be happy. I only found out she was a wiccan recently when I bought a wiccan calendar because I was curious and it had pretty pictures.

From my calendar I see that the Church of All Worlds was founded on this day in history, 1962. Tomorrow is the anniversary of William Alexander Aynton (a person of influence in wicca) being initiated into the Golden Dawn in 1896. Tomorrow's color is noted as amber.

That's the extent of my knowledge on the subject. Haha. I welcome additional education about this, but most spiritualism is apples and oranges to me. If I have a soul or a spirit, I put it into clay or share it with my loved ones.

Tomorrow I'll be doing the mom type thing, Easter eggs, baskets, candy. I'm making strawberry shortcake too. I made three kinds of hummus and marinated tofu, if that counts as a feast. :D

There is generally a celebration of Eostre (there are variants in spelling) - the goddess of fertility. This celebration typically happens on the Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox (this year, that happens to fall on Easter Sunday.)

The celebrations vary - because of the nature of the Wiccan faith and other neo-pagan traditions, there is not the same constancy that you find in the "more organized religions." Maypole dancing, bonfire jumping, and a recognition of fertility and renewal are all part of it.

And of course the bunnies and eggs that we now associate with Easter, the two symbols of fertility.

Thank you, Charles. Well stated.

All the best in any setting. Let's enjoy the children's tales known and to be known.

I'm celebrating Easter by NOT getting up at 6.00am and going to the beach for a walk and swim!

I have heard of egg blowing and painting. Also rolling hard boiled eggs down hills and streets. Simple joys for children...

Happy Easter everyone!

My only plan for tomorrow is to pull out and watch It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, because you have to have Peanuts specials on holidays. Also, since I'm currently recovering from pneumonia, I'm watching a lot of TV.

Your day especially sounds awesome, Varenne. Nobody parties quite like the Wiccans. Although, marinated tofu? Good lord. Only in California.

To those who celebrate Easter, or something else, or nothing at all, have a great day.
