so are my hands.
so is the carpet.
oh god, its happening again....

This sounds cliched with the opening line Tylerdf but as the other 3 lines echo derailment it seems to give the first line better perspective (how ironic!)

Many people who write poetry can't write it, but we do anyway.

Your poem reminds of something a female once said to me in a mocking sort of way about poetry. I think it went something like this:


The sky is blue.
The grass is green.
Your heart is black.

Needless to say that's about as far as we went discussing poetry.
