I saw a redhead today
with blue vein lips,
the whitest of thighs,
the milky congealing cream
of a slowly dripping udder.
A man watched with me, silver haired,
the blackest of marble eyes,
his forehead wrinkled
in the sincerity of his words.
“Jerry”, he gagged,
above a brandy balloon,
“I never cherished a single soul”
I stroked his precious Persian cat,
then sent him to sleep,
as he asked.

Ah sweet death. A good depiction of those final moments Jerry.

I have in mind what the brandy balloon might be.... A sad unforgiving poem told in a casual, nonchalant manner. Would you take care of my cat too?

Vivid and uncomfortable like death. To be so lucky to admit life's failure honesty on the death-bed is a beautiful thing. Jerry, you capture the ordinary in such a crazy and whimsical way.

are You a vet?

always curios...wanting to know.
If so it sounds like you had to terminate a cat on this day....hard to do but someone must do it.

I have a post to share with You if this is the case....

always,
