Hi guys it is my Confirmation today and I'm very excited about it. I picked the name Anna.

I learned a lot of things for this special day is this one prayer-
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
enkindle in us the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Oh God who has taught the hearts of the faithful
By the light of the Holy Spirit
Grant us in the same spirit to be truely wise
And ever to rejoice in his constilation threw Jesus Chris our lord
Amen

I think it's a really nice prayer but I'm not sure what it really means, so plz tell me. I would also love to know how you remember your confirmation day.
Thanks and wish be good luck:smile5:

For those who believe in the Holy Trinity, then God the Father is God as creator, through whom you are born, God the Son is God as redeemer, in whom you are baptised, and the Holy Spirit is God as sustainer and inspirer, whom you receive at confirmation.

The prayer is that the Holy Spirit might so fill and inspire the faithful that through them God's work might be done and the earth renewed as He intends it to be.

The prayer makes more sense if it written as a ritual conversation -

Invocation - Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

"Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth." (Psalm 103 (or 104) verse 30)

Prayer - O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations.
Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

The verse from the psalm follows a verse that says that when God hides his face all things wither, but (verse 30) when He sends forth his spirit all things are renewed and recreated.
