I woke up today some time after noon
And I discovered I had shrunken
First I thought I was a bit out of tune
Maybe something I had drunken
But no matter I was extremely minuscule
The size of your average insect
A karmic fate had befallen me - and cruel!
The outside world I must inspect
Climbing off the couch - this was fraught
So too navigating the shag pile
I couldn't tell in which direction I ought
Through the fibres that erstwhile
Had been something to simply tread on
They were now deep dark forest
And in this jungle my heart grew leaden
Soon I was incontrovertibly lost
But then to me a little voice did speak
'Don't try to look over, but under'
It was a millipede with not saucy cheek
But sage advice amid the wonder
'Where are you?' I asked Mr Many-Pins
'Whence did your voice originate?'
'Not supposed to cavort with minikins'
Thence hence failed to elaborate
I carried on in my desperate battle
But then a strange noise I hear
A crunchy singing - more of a rattle
Crawled along til I grew near
I then learnt what and who it was
The frontman of a famous act
The Beetles they called it because
It's what they were - it's a fact!
'I'm John' he said in Liverpudlian accent
'I'm looking for my band, have you
Perchance observed where they went?'
Right behind him - I swear it's true!
'Eh?' he shuffled around to see where
'Oh!' he declared once he'd spied
'How are you three doing back there?'
'Fine John,' George and Paul lied
'Not bad,' clicked Ringo, off of his stool
'We need a way to see each other'
'Oh no!' Yoko snarled at him 'You fool -
'John needs a way not to bother!'
And so The Beetles were heard no more
Except on every stereo and radio
I had my mission so I made for the door
Once outside - wouldn't you know -
The garden and world were normal sized!
I write this tale down for posterity
And as a method to make it formalised
Hopefully also add to my prosperity*
*Probably won't though
