I’m not referring to the most beautiful cities. I’m talking about landscapes.

It doesn’t have to be the highest mountain or tallest trees.

Just some place downright beautiful.

I have never been, but I think Cornwall is very beautiful. It looks quiet and dreamy.

What about you. Maybe you actually went somewhere drop-dead gorgeous.

Scotland is beautiful, especially the west coast. Wales also, the Lake District, Cornwall - never been but would love to go as it looks stunning. Many parts of Yorkshire also. Lancashire has some lovely places too if you look for them. Yeah, so basically I'm pining for the UK.

I live in Perth Western Australia and just spent some time in the Cotswolds which was such a refreshing change from the dry harsh landscape in which I live. I adored the narrow winding roads from one village to the next, the moss covered stone walls, the bare trees before they bloom and the vast views of beautiful rich green hills - a green that I haven't seen anywhere in WA, with little villages nestled in the valleys. Sigh...

Hey Veho. I didn't say it but I'm from the US. I have never been over seas.

I sooo want to see other parts of the world.

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding, but you said Scotland and Wales are beautiful. But you said you are pining for the UK.

Does that mean you want to go, or you want to go back, or what?

Hey Delta40.
No joke. Western Australia sounds like Texas. Yes, dry harsh landscape.
I'm like you. I need that change of scenery.

Hi Bad Grass,

I never used to be interested in visiting the US but since reading On the Road I think a road trip across the country would be amazing. Whereabouts in the US are you?

I don't really understand your question - sorry I'm being slow. I'm from the UK, specifically England, but recently moved country. I'm pining for all of the UK: England, Scotland, Wales although not N. Ireland but maybe that's because I've never been.

Hello Veho. I understand now.

I was tripped up with the word ‘pining’.

I am pining for the UK myself.

I’m from Texas. There isn’t much to see here, but parts of the country are nice.

A while back, elsewhere, someone mentioned they had a fascination with the wild west.
But for me, I’m reminded of it every day.

I yearn to see Europe. I don’t know why, but I’m fascinated with Cornwall.
It looks like a place where I could just kick back in a hammock all day while the wind gently rocks me.

Yes, it would be nice.

I’ll trade you. Haha.

I believe Scotland is the most beautiful in term of landscape. I have never been but really want to go. I will....soon! I'm sure Wales is lovely too.

being, as I am, from Canada, I have have no shortage of beautiful landscapes. The east coast of Canada is my favourite in that regards. BC/Alberta can have its mountains - nothing beats travelling the coasts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland (particularly Newfoundland).

Further abroad....The Carmel Mountains and surrounding forest area in Israel is absolutely beautiful (or was....I haven't been there since a good portion burned down last year.)

I guess it's natural for the place we are most familiar with to become dull and uninspiring to us and yet it will hold charms for those unfamiliar with it.

I have seen very little of Europe too and would love one day to travel around it but that requires resources which many simply do not possess, myself included. How I dislike the constraints that civilisation puts upon us.

Anyway, I will trade you but only temporarily!

America is a place of diverse landscapes. California is stunningly beautiful from top to bottom. Switzerland looks beautiful to me. France does too. I will have to visit more countries before I can pick a favorite.

The ruggedness of the west coast of Ireland, with the rain lashing down.

The sand dunes, west of Riyadh in the early morning.

The dawn enveloping the trees of coastal Jamaica & the early morning movement of tropical birds.

The stillness & expanse of the forests of Northern Alberta in winter.

The brooding highlands of Papua New Guinea as viewed from the coastal region, after the rains have cleared.

The coast of South Africa is absolutely stunning... Cape Town is spectacular. Sandy beaches, mountains, diverse flora and fauna, beautiful, tall trees, animals running around....

Also I think Ireland's coast is so beautiful (as well as the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland). So much greenery and so many cliffs and spectacular views.

I agree about the US having a lot of amazing scenery... Washington, Oregon, California... The Rockies are stunning, as are the forests and beaches.

Also, Hawaii looks amazing, though I have never been.

I would also add my own country to this list (Bosnia).. a lot of mountains, forests, emerald rivers.
