I had recently finished reading Robert Louis Stevenson's "The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" and upon finishing it, found myself searching for more stories written by Robert Louis Stevenson. I am in the middle of Treasure Island now, and it is the first copy I have read that is not bridged. It can be a hard book to follow at times, due to the character's way of speaking, and I usually have a dictionary by my side to flick through when I come across a part I don't understand. To any students who are reading Treasure Island for an assignment, I would recommend you do this also. Though I have not yet finished the book, I believe it is safe for me to say that it is one of the greatest books I have ever read. Maybe I have not seen enough film versions of Treasure Island, but I believe that so far, when translated to film, not one of the films has portrayed Captain Smollet correctly.
