What latest toy do you want that will make you very happy indeed?
I want a motorbike such as this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/125cc-CUSTOM-CRUISER-MOTORBIKE-2012-MODEL-HUONIAO-HN125-8-LEARNER-LEGAL?item=270887745854&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3D LVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7052804263449915084
I'm sure that if I had this then all things would be wonderful and I would be very happy?
I would look really cool riding around on something like that*...
(However, the evil Mrs N won't let me have one.)
What toy do you want, out of interest?
* This is a top quality, low budget, cheap Chinese bike, oh yes.

A really nice kayak. I can't find a good picture of the kind I want but yeah, a sweet top of the line kayak that I can take down rivers or out into the ocean.
A good dependable road bike would be nice also. I have this sweet black vintage one but it needs a heck of a lot of work.

The new resolutionary iPad, even though I found the presentation for it to be a tad underwhelming when compared to the iPad 2.

A MAC book or something portable that I can create excellent digital art with. I love my wacom tablet, but I would really love having some kind of wireless laptop.

At the moment, nothing much. I might get a new laptop sometime soon because the current one is getting a bit old.

Oh wow, I want a kayak too. Or maybe a nice lazy sail boat.

A big shiny red tractor.
I'm sure that is The Key to happiness, however my bank's computer says no.

When I read the title of this thread I thought about Star Trek action figures I have wanted for so long to stand next to my Shakespeare action figure on my desk. But you all have some grown up toys in mind.
I'd really like a good espresso machine
but I want Mr. Spock and the original Enterprise more. Oh and how cool would Garak be chatting with Shakespeare...

I very rarely want anything material-wise except for food items, especially for recipes. At the moment? Nutritional yeast. More tempeh. Chia seeds. Onion powder, basil, and parsley. The list goes on. Just small things, and nothing is ever truly obligatory or needed. Just things to be excited about. :D

I've become a shopaholic since starting to sell on Ebay. My mom jokes that I'm making up for the months of spiritualism when I considered becoming a nun and was trying to give up material goods. She could be right. The first thing I bought after giving up that life was a vibrator.
There are a lot of things I want--old V comic books and novels, the second season of the 2009 V series, two scripts from the 1984-85 V TV series, Disney singing dolls, Fisher Price Sweet Streets furniture and dolls (and maybe the other accessories), Funshine and Friendship Care Bears, a Grover microphone and cookie monster keyboard that goes with my Let's Rock Elmo, I want to complete my Vintage Fisher Price farm house and schoolhouse with the missing accessories, I want the Fisher Price airport and garage. Oh! And I want the Monster High dolls.
And I hope this spending spree will slow down, because I had originally wanted to save $300 in my bank account...and right now that is not looking very likely. Of course, I try to console myself that I'm not a shopaholic--I'm stimulating our economy.

I also want a gun. Would probably never use it, but whenever I get harassed or troubled at bars or by young skid punks when I'm out jogging I point in whatever direction and say "I live just over there. I'm going home to get my gun." I hate lying.

A preserved one in a jar, or a prosthetic one?
I know I'm falling behind with phone tech, so a smartphone would be good.

I wondered about that - but where would she keep it/he? Fifth's married isn't she? I suppose they might have a handy closet.

I think I read somewhere that Scandinavians aren't materialistic people. Do you think that's true or just a stereotype? Albeit, a good one.
I can't think of any toy I want at the moment either. A snow-mobile would be nice but the snows starting to melt now anyway.
Good choice of toy though Neely - although I don't though how reliable those cheap Chinese copies are. I used to want a motorbike so much but wasn't allowed one either. I had dreams of something much more sporty though. My parents were very wise to deny me one.

I don't think that's true, I think most have big dreams of some toy to make them happy. Most people around me are very materialistic, but we are just Scandinavian by choice, don't really know where the world puts the ice in general we just want to be with the Scandinavian countries for some reason.

Well, you're pretty close to those countries classed as Scandinavia. Why does Iceland want to be part of it so much?

Yes I'm not sure how reliable they are. According to reviews they better than you might think, but I don't know for sure. Something like a Honda would probably be the best shot but then you are paying twice as much and Mrs N won't even let me have this one. Two years ago I tried to get up and running with a motor but it didn't work out too.

If you live in Yorkshire, as it says you do, there's some great roads you're missing out cruising on, I reckon. Maybe you can initiate negotiations with Mrs N - it might even work! The main manufactuerers are very expensive but maybe for a reason or maybe you're just paying over the odds for the brand. I have a thing for Yamahas. Coincidentally, my forum name means 'ride' in Latin - I chose it when I was determined to get a motorbike.

I have a black chest filled with my dad and brother's rifles in the basement, but I want my own little handgun. I want this one:

Oh right that Latin phrase means ride I like that, nothing to do with wine at all! Yes there are some good roads around the Peaks. I get out bike a lot in the summer. I used to have a road bike but the tires are very thin and I kept getting punctures so I switched to a hybrid which is in-between that and a mountain bike. I'm not keen on mountain bikes because the wheels are so thick that it makes going on the road slow work, a hybrid bike is the best mix for me. I can do all that now but a bike with a motor gives you a lot more options - further, quicker, faster, easier etc. Maybe if I live off rice for 6 months I can bank the savings? Or if I could get as lucky as my brother who has won a grand in the last couple of weeks on Betfair! These learner legal bikes are just good for starters anyway, so the Chinese one would probably do fine, as you can't take these on the motorway as only a learner anyway, you'd need to move up a gear to do that.

..... Mrs N won't even let me have this one.....
Perhaps, just perhaps, the foolish woman is fond of you, Neely, and would like to keep you around for a few more years yet.
My Old Chap was an ex-Biker, a serious, cross-country sort, but I begged him not to have another bike so he didn't. He had written off a couple of cars in as many years so I felt I had a point though he did remark he had never had an accident on the road only off-road - and he still had the metal splint and limp to show for it. One of his friends has taken to rebuilding vintage bikes: he returns them to road-worthiness, rides them for a while, sells them on and starts again with a new one. I see how much fun he is having, think how much my Old Boy would have enjoyed doing the same, and feel a twinge of guilt - but only a twinge. I still think he would not have been at my side so long had he been a proud bike owner - selfish, I know, but we wives get that way.

Betfair? It's a slippery slope. Or so I've heard. I will point you in the direction of The Gambler if you've not already read it. I really enjoyed it.
A cycle and a motorbike will just give you the option of either. Do I want to take the cycle out today or go exploring further on the bike? Options are good. I don't recommend living off rice or you'll be too malnourished to enjoy either! Anyway, if it's something you really want to do, I hope you find a way of achieving it.

Oh, I still want a motorbike. God I'm dreaming of them!
I think I subconsciously view the motorbike as a symbol of freedom or escapism or something like that as well, (typical mid life thing) but it would also be a good thing to be able to fly up hills without having to puff away too I think.
