I'm a newbie!!

Hello All,

I'm new to the site, and I would like to post some short stories, but I need to know if there are any size restrictions. The FAQ doesn't specify a restriction, but I notice that most of the stories are really short, and mine are probably like 4 - 10 pages typed. Is that too long for the forum?

G'day Breeze. Well, I had to ask the same question when I joined. You can get about 10K words in a single post, but it depends on how you want to post, to be honest. There's nothing to stop you making multiple posts in the one thread if you have a really long story. My first one was about 13K words, and I put it up in two parts. Here are some tips though. Any formatting you have put into your tale will almost certainly be ignored by the website posting options.

You will need to put a space between paragraphs to prevent the story from appearing as one humungous block of text. The posting options recognise this. Continuous blocks of text puts readers off, big time. I'd recommend that you put a space between separate lines of dialogue by respective characters too. It's much easier to do in your word processor before posting than in the little window you get in the posting options.
