Spending time with dying people
I knew once whilst alive
the thing that bothers me most
is that they have nothing to say.
No epiphany after all.
Ladies and gentlemen
I present to you,
as you are all special,
every one of you,
my poem about dying people
having nothing too special to say.
Clap hands.

It's a sad poem, of course, but in some way that I can't define, it's a heartfelt, truthful one.

It is true. No epiphany- just unfathomable loss made actual.

Several layers of loss expressed in so few lines. The soon-to-be dead; death of meaningful conversations, and a writer's words dying off. The twist is, in having "nothing to say", it's actually saying a lot. Standing ovation from Haunted

no, no revelations with dying people, "it's so difficult", were my best friend's last words... thoughtful poem, Jerry, best to you.

Is it just me or is this place in slow mo at the mo?
