I discovered after highschool and college that great literature, no matter how old, captivates the mature mind. You gotta think deeply before you can appreciate words found in a book like Pride and Prejudice. If you fall in the group that at the moment would prefer to dismiss the book, then I believe you are not ready to enjoy its content. Live a while longer. Try reading enough different writings until you reach a point when you desire to write meaningful words of your own, relating some special ideas that you hope others would find incredibly useful or interesting. Then, try writing about those ideas. During the arduous process of this last step, give Pride and Prejudice another read. I believe you'll discover that Austen's communications are brilliant and beautiful.
