Hi, I'm Gabriela. I recently read "The Aspern Papers" from Henry James and I havenīt been able to discover the purpose of hiding the true identity of the "nameless narrator". Do you think there is a reason behind this? In your opinion, why is it that we are not given the real name of the editor? Is this deliberate or unintentional?

Why would you read it as hiding the identity of the editor. The editor is the narrator of the story, do you often refer to yourself in the third person? We don't get a name, but I'm not sure that's important. We know he's American, an editor, and has an obsession for a dead poet named Aspern. How would a name change any of that.
Also, James pretty much always leaves his narrator unnamed.
