I would like to know your opinion about a character that Ive always found one of the most charming of this novel: Rosa Dartle! What do you think about her, and, especially, what do you think her role in Steerforth's home was? Let's discuss about it!

I think Rosa Dartle had had a romantic relationship with Steerforth, and that is why she hated little Emily.

As far as her function in the Steerforth household, it says she was Mrs. Steerforth's companion.
