Certainly no one at this site would fall into one of the following categories...

This one was instantly recognisable.
The Smarty Pants
The Smarty Pants' goal is to find and expose inaccuracies--no matter how insignificant--solely as a means to demonstrate his intellectual superiority. A Smarty Pants constantly runs a fine-toothed comb through both a site's original articles and its comments in search of nits to pick: factual errors, grammatical errors, typos--it doesn't matter. The instant he finds one, he pounces on the offending poster, thrashing him with the wet capellini of his erudition.

I believe there's a little "Mr. Credentials" hidden in each and everyone of us.
Speaking, of course, as the published author of 102 novels.

That article was unerving, a bit like my eary Catholic upbringing & trying to recall my sins in confession!
"Bless me Father for I have sinned. I have been flaming & trolling in a most un-Christian manner."
If you want to experience "The Antagonizer," first hand, try the Teak Door Forum, that caters for a lost tribe of ex-pats living in Thailand that are like a wolf pack. Comprised of a high percentage of alpha males; any outside contribution, evokes communal baying at the moon and the cocking of legs at metaphorical Bankok lamp-posts. Great sport, if you are into that sort of affray.
Oh dear! Have I now recognised another sub-type?
Dear Emil
Excuse my ignorance, but is "thrashing with wet capellini" an erotic Italian thing, involving pasta?
Regards
M.

I don't really know, but in my experience, Italians would much prefer to tuck into a plateful of capellini, wet or otherwise, before considering anything of an erotic nature.
In my case it's the other way round.

Brilliant article.
I think it actually shows how good of a forum this is, though, because the only two I recognized (though I've known all of them) as being here were Mr. Cedentials and Smarty Pants. Still, I don't think being a Mr. Credentials is a bad thing if in moderation, and as for the Smart Pants, it's a literature forum. What do we expect?

I must say I recognize myself here more than I would like to admit:

There was that big-time conspiracy theorist last year. Most Romantic-era composers were frauds, the moon landing was faked, fluoride, etc.

Jack of Hearts feels like either a Smarty Pants or a Johnny One-Word.
Lame.

haha this is great. In addition to the ones mentioned, I think that there are also some self-promoters on here (they come and go) and Sermonators... maybe even a bit of the Antagonizer in some of us... :)

*Lol.* Well, I was actually second.
I found the list to be amusing, anyway. This Forum seems to be fairly squeaky clean. But, they're missing the 'Unintelligible English-As-A-Second-Language Preacher'.. I've seen a surprising amount of those around here.

Haha, that's always the most annoying part about the "first" people. Usually it goes:
Comment 1: Blablablablah.
Comment 2: Yes, indeed, blah blah blah.
Comment 3: FIRST!!!
