Who else has an iPad? Your favourite apps?

A few weeks ago I gave into temptation and finally brought an iPad2. Who else has an iPad?

I'm very pleased with mine, just not sure about the battery life at the moment.

Does anyone know of any decent apps?

Pages is a good app for word processing, much better than the default notes.

It all depends on what you want to do with it. If you plan on creating documents, pages is really the best. Kindle app is better than iBooks if you ate using it as an e reader. If you use a lot of PDFs,GoodReader is fantastic. Other than that, I recommend Dropbox to easily transfer files that iCloud cannot support. And the Shakespeare app, because who doesn't need Shakespeare everywhere they go?

I love my iPad, and the battery life doesn't seem too bad. About 8-9 hours, unless I'm playing a lot of games.

My favorite apps are the Kindle app (of course) and the Comics app. I have the iPad to thank for getting me back into comic reading. The screen is really good for it, unlike regular book reading which sometimes gets uncomfortable.

As for Word Procession apps, I use DocsToGo, and I like it pretty well. Do you think it'd be worth it to switch to Pages?

Pages and Numbers are a bit more user friendly for the iPad, but there is not a huge difference to justify the extra spending, I think.

Different selections, and different layout. Essentially they are two different ebook stores

You should get one! They're really great - I've only got the first iPad but I've just read an article that claims the New iPad is amazing for reading on because of the retina display. Anyway, I have no problem reading on mine, it's great.

I've explored the Kindle app a bit now - there's certainly more choice and the ones that you buy are generally cheaper. I'm not so sure whether the layout is better though. I'm reading a book on iBooks at the mo so when I've finished that I might have a go reading one on the Kindle app.

I've had an iPad 2 for a couple of months. It grows on you; It's rarely out of my sight. I teach and I've converted all my material to pdfs and keep them on it. For me, iBooks and Kindle are equally good, though not for the same tasks. iBooks allows you to create shelves of pdf files while Kindle is great for ebooks. GoodReader is also great for pdfs. For word processing, I have Pages, QuickBooks (the iPad version of MS Office) and several less ambitious programs. QuickBooks is the best overall. And get Dropbox. It is invaluable for transferring files. Another excellent investment is a keyboard. My fingers at least don't do well on the screen keyboard. The portable one makes the iPad a virtual laptop.

And I've also caved and ordered a new iPad. I think the retinue display will make a big difference for reading books and especially comics.

I reckon comics will look amazing on the new iPad.

Not really sure what that's supposed to mean, but you don't have to be a FB use to play. You can create an account and find people by searching their user names. FB just makes it a lot easier to play with people you know.
