When i usually read a book it takes me one to two days to read, but when i read Austens "pride and prejudice" it took me quite a while longer. The book in itself is a hard slog to read but if you have the patience and an understanding of the 18th century not to mention that your whole year eleven class is doing it, it makes great reading.

The characters created by Austen are very different which reflects the fact that just because people are of a different social standing doesnt mean they have similar veiws or opinions. Indeed the conflict that arises from this text makes it rather comical, especially in the case of Lady Cathrine and Mr Collins and Lydia whom are probably the most wittless of characters.

You'll never know if you like this novel unless you do actually read it.
