Hi, I'm looking for a contemporary poet who deals with romantic metaphor and particularly the concept of pre-existence as Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth's work centered on. Anyone have any poets they would recommend I research? Grateful for any feedback. ~Maureen

Poetry is atemporal, and anything outside the poem are just random circumstances.

That said, maybe you can fin in T.S. Eliot's "Four Quartets" what you are looking for. It's from 1942.
