The Silent Rose

The cloak of darkness gives way to magical light
That seethes into a flowers stalk
Bestowing warmth;
To grow, to flourish, to reborn,
In the play of beauty
Of life's loving forms.

On the open fields she plays magic,
Twisting in the wind
Like a ballerina on stage,
She lets all know she's out to play;
Touching the clouds that drift by
Then drying in the warmth of the yellow sun.

She dances like a light hearted pin wheel
That spins and turns where the wind takes her,
A delight to her friends who pay a visit.
And when the arrival of darkness nuzzles her
She behaves herself like a silent rose
Dreaming about her magical day.

This Being Without You

There was a thousand nights in heaven
All of them spent with you,
You there, me here
Under the same sky blue.

In my dreams I take you
Under my wings of flight.
We go to the places we fancied
We go to me and you.

Looking through our dusty cupboard,
Your mug right next to you,
Where you sat with me,
Where your words sang "love you".

Delightful being in front of you
You in my dream, me with you.
As I hobble to pour my tea
And drop my cup on your seat.

It frightens me, you there, me here.
Sleeping with my dream, your picture next to me.
My faith is sturdy but this weakness ever near,
This being without you, my only fear.

Yet here I find myself covered in tears,
Tears of joy, tears of sorrow;
Both swim down the same ocean,
Wishing to find you.

My dream is almost through,
My thousand days in heaven
Are set to expire when I do;
Then I live, again, to find you!
