vagantes

Swinging round in my chair, I grab a book:
And read some words of comfort:
How the tear drops of angels
Falling through the azure skies
So mistily in my heart become an ache.
Now the pain of her life is over
May guardians watch over her sleep;
Hold her tight from harm's way;
But her heart will be buried deep.
The window of your life is shut forever,
Nevermore will you speak to us.
You were the child of the moon
Lonely in America's night.
And you are gone now,
I cannot turn round and see you there.
But when the music starts up on the Last Day
May your voice ring out once more.
And read some words of comfort:
How the tear drops of angels
Falling through the azure skies
So mistily in my heart become an ache.
Now the pain of her life is over
May guardians watch over her sleep;
Hold her tight from harm's way;
But her heart will be buried deep.
The window of your life is shut forever,
Nevermore will you speak to us.
You were the child of the moon
Lonely in America's night.
And you are gone now,
I cannot turn round and see you there.
But when the music starts up on the Last Day
May your voice ring out once more.
