Hello, I am Cioran. :yesnod:

I joined a long time ago, but haven't had much time to join in the discussions here. However, I hope that will change. It looks like a great site.

I started submitting fiction pieces about 5 years ago and have had nine accepted for publication, including one piece, "In Borges' Bookstore," that was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Along with three other online compatriots, I have written a long novel, The Pood. The home page of our Web site is here. (http://thepoodnovel.com/)

The first 33 pages of the novel may be found here. (http://thepoodnovel.com/excerpt.html) Other excerpts are password-protected, for potential publishers. We hope to submit with a week. Any feedback on the first 33 pages and the Web site in general would be most welcome.

An online gallery (the novel will be illustrated, pix by me) may be found here. (http://thepoodnovel.com/gallery.html) The gallery is a work in progress; not all characters have yet been rendered.

My main hangout is The Gallilean Library. (http://www.galilean-library.org/site/index.php) Beginning on or about April 1, we will be publishing a quarterly magazine devoted to the arts, literature, science, philosophy and the general humanities. We are seeking original fiction and poems; the first magazine will have two fiction pieces. If you are interested in submitting, please PM me; a formal submissions process will be established after the first magazine appears.

Nice to see you all.

ETA: There is no pay for the mag, just exposure. It will be run on the new print-on-demand model and online PDF versions. I hope this isn't considered improper soliciting of any sort; I just wanted to alert people that there is a potential venue for their work.

That's certainly a hard-hitting first paragraph and seems to set the scene for the rest of it. It has some very good moments, but I'm not sure how much of a market there's going to be for that kind of stuff.

Oh, I'm sure it will be a hard sell, but we are trying small independent publishers who advertise as taking a chance on offbeat material.

Have you ever heard of Revenge Ink? I think they would probably be ideal candidates.

I had not; just checked it out online. You are right, that looks like a very strong candidate for this kind of work. Thank you!

Already got a response (highly encouraging) from Revenge Ink. Thanks for the tip!
