This book is boring. Sure there's social commentary on the submissive role of women, but you have to dig to find some action that's worth paying attention to. And who cares about the main characters? Do they ever DO anything besides reflect on life? The most interesting character is Lydia, who runs away with her boyfriend. All least she seems to be living -- instead of just observing -- life.<br><br>I prefer Jack London, if you don't mind.
