There's a poster here on LitNet.
You having read his work is a good bet.
He says he's unconventional,
More like unmentionable,
To poetry he could be considered a threat.
WolfLarsen is his name,
And posting shlock is his game.
Your response he wants,
So he can reply with taunts,
This behavior should bring him shame.
On WolfLarsen I have a theory
Formed by inspecting his post history:
He's really a troll
And he takes his toll
By making LitNetters weary.
But we can solve this disturbance
So that he is no longer a hindrance.
It's really quite as simple
As getting rid of a pimple,
And that's to not respond to his insurgence.
It is known that trolls must be fed
Or they stay and cause much dred
So it should be clear to you
What it is you must do:
Ignore his poetry so it'll be dead.

I like to feed the little trolls that wobble to my weary side. Here, have some crumbs. They don't cost much. They're tasty after they've been touched. Then off they go to hide.
I wasn't sure if I needed line-breaks in the above or not. Maybe just crumbs.

They'd be incredibly hypocritical if they did, as I've seen so many poems blatantly break the no politics rules it's ridiculous. I'm just expressing myself, here.

An itch makes you want to scratch and only gets worse when you do scratch. I like the poem though.

I don't know....I don't think this is necessary? appropriate? It's one thing to criticize bad poetry/writing - but this is different. Just....not classy?

Yeah, but it feels soooooo good.

It's not necessary, I've never claimed to be classy, and I'm rarely appropriate.

Something we can agree on?
But one thing that I can say, Mutatis, is that you are unique...one of a kind....and definitely BOLD.

Haha, thanks Bien. I guess I'm good at being bold here. I'm usually pretty meek, though I've had my moments.

I think this poem sadly draws even more attention to WolfLarsen, and is therefore a part of the problem. It certainly gives us the right advice on how to deal with him, though. :)

The question remains, to what extent if any does WolfLarsen sincerely believe that his contributions have merit or are they merely expressions of his contempt for the rest of us?

There's a lot of poetry I don't like, some of it by people with a longstanding reputation. However, there is no need to wage a campaign against it like Byron did against Wordsworth, Coleridge and Southey. From what I read, Southey succeeded in making Byron miserable, but was it really Southey's fault?
Thanks to Byron's hostility, people still know Southey's name.

I think you yourself have missed the point in ignoring his poetry if you're going to write a poem about it. Plus, it's hardly as if you've made a point that everybody else wasn't painfully aware of.

I'm aware of the irony, Catamite. It was something I considered before writing this, but I said **** it and wrote it anyway.
As to whether or not I'm being mean. I don't care. After how Wolf has behaved and responded to people, I doesn't weigh on my conscience a bit. Actually, I restrained myself. I could have gone free verse and really tore him up.

You've let your personal contempt for a publicly named person get the better of you and revealed it to Lit-Net members through 'creative work'. I hope you're proud of yourself because this only speaks about your character Mutatis and not Wolf's.

Are you having fun with Alex up on that pedestal?
I'm no more proud of myself than I've ever been. And, of course it speaks about my character. Most of my poetry does. It can't really speak for anyone elses, can it?
As Wolf would surely agree, there's a thing called free speech, and I'm excercising it. Wolf was simply inspiration. He is my muse.
Seriously though, Delta, (and this goes for Alex just as well), who are you to condemn me? It's not like you've never been antagonistic or, well, mean to members on here. There are a few members, that if they came here and called my behavior shameful, I might take it to bear. You, or Alex, aren't one of them.

I don't speak for anyone else Mutatis. Only for myself. It's my point of view. Plain and simple. I haven't condemned you, only stated my thoughts about the implications of what your actions mean to me. I posted because I respect you enough to let you know what I think.

Well, thanks Delta. Maybe I was a bit harsh in that reply, so my apologies. It's been sort of a crappy day.
