View Full Version : What color is your litnet?

I went with the brown color scheme for a while because I prefer darker text areas, and while it seriously beats the crap out of the old bright orange style, it started to get annoying. Today I switched to the blue colors, they's much less invasive (read: it's prettier). I wonder if the color will influence the tone of my posts.
How about you, which color scheme do you like?

There's blue? I've been on the orange for quite some time. *Going to check the blue*

I'm not even going to try the blue until there's a pile of books in the top left corner.

I didn't even know you could change the colour scheme...
...actually, even knowing it can be done doesn't mean I'll be able to find out. Curse you, technology!

I've changed to blue. (I like blue. I'm wearing a blue t-shirt, jeans blue socks and pants with blue house feet things.)
It's not blue all over though. It's blue here, and on the search, but brown on the main page.

How do you change the color?

No it's the serious discussion that's brown. Everything else seems blue.

That's how it is with orange. It's orange on all the pages except the serious discussion where it's brown.

same here!
The colour has become so quintessentially LitNet (even if I remember the old orange) - that it would feel weird to change. Also, I much prefer the dark text.

 Is that a ploy of Admin to calm people down  There was that American prison governor who dressed all his convicts in pink because it was proven that that colour is calming
I've got brown, I don't like change, and brown is how I got to know this board, and that's how it's gonna stay. I know you can change the colour, but I tried it and it wasn't as comforting as brown :). That said, I have to say that every week I take the same chair in the swimming pool and the same locker. Maybe I'm just weird :svengo:

Is that why? I thought it was for punishment purposes - it seems like there was a sound bite of somoene saying "they don't like pink so we put them in pink."

I didn't know either. I still don't know.

I just tried the blue and orange. The blue is too bright for my liking and the orange is just weird. I'll stick to the brown. It seems somehow classy.

If you haven't tried the other colors yet, there's a pull-down menu (now it should say "New Literature Style") at the bottom of every (?) LitNet page, and it gives us three choices for the "look" of LitNet.

I use brown, the orange is hideous, and the blue is the vbulletin default that is overused.

Well that would not be very efficient for a prison, would it?
I heard that at least he felt that people become more peaceful or something with pink rather than orange, which they are mainly dressed in. Kind of the 'girly' look...

:yesnod: I think it's 'cuz Serious Discussion is new.

True, I do miss the 'ol pile of books already. Also, I learned something today: I used to think that you had no avatar, but on the blue, your avatar is a beige square.

I'll try the blue for a while, but I agree, the brown does seem classy and appropriate for a literature forum.
Edit: just noticed, like someone said, that there's no stack of books in the top left. This will not do.

For two years I've been annoyed by the band of brown at the top whenever I visit my own profile - it doesn't match any of my OCD seasonal designs. Just forty-five seconds ago, I made a beautiful discovery: the blue matches my current winter decor.

Ah ha! Now I know how it works, I can change it...
...yeurch, they're hideous. I'll stick with my comforting sepia themed litnet.

I like the brown, nothing against the brown, but I like the blue. It's fresh.

Yeah, the blue is quite common on the web. I just tried it and lit-net seemed so unfamiliar in that look. I like the brown color scheme and will keep it.

I thought only the brown existed. Meh... blue sounds nice though.

I've seen the blue in other places, and for some reason I don't like it. Orange of course is the color of insanity.
So it's brown for me.

There should be a green option, as in "Thou, Litnet! in thy green array"
