Pride & Prejudice is probably a boring book for most people in todays world. I was born in the 50's and its a reality. At one time women were not allowed to be educated and seek out career positions. Instead they were expected to marry good meaniing financial stability, be a good wife, mother, housekeeper and nothing more. To make a long story short women were the slaves of men. The world I lived in fought for women's rights for it was us who worked at the same jobs as men and paid less much less. After all we should not have been working we needed to be home raising kids and hoping our husbands would return home after work. I am grateful for the book and hope in someones life it will make a difference.
