I don't know if that was said in jest or was a semi-serious attempt to re-write the history books of pop music.

George the best Beatle? Maybe someone's favorite Beatle. But opinions are opinions. There is a gulf between Lennon/McCartney, theeeeeeen back to George. No disrespect intended. :lurk5:

George's problem was that he developed late - had he had more early inspirations with The Beatles as his backing band there would have been greater Lennon/Harrison and maybe Harrison/McCartney contributions in the song book than Lennon/McCartney (I can't speak for Ringo, but I'm sure he would have dutifully supplied the rhythm)
