I loved the movie so much that I had to read the book. I love the book even more. Its interesting to see how important marraige was to women in that time. It makes me appreciate how far we have come in the past three hundred years, that I can be more than a wife. But the story is still timeless, it has been retold through many movies, such as Clueless and Bridget Jone's Diary. So if you are one of those students out there who was forced to read it, maybe you should try comparing it to its modern day counterparts.
