[Kyriakos]

A couple of months ago i got my first publication in a periodical of literature :)

It was of a short story, 9 pages long, in a greek magazine of literature, one of the more established ones.

Since then i became a bit more courageous and sent work to more periodicals, with the result that another one accepted to publish a second story, and two more are currently reviewing the work i sent.

This thread can be about asking questions to writers who managed to get published, or you can ask about my particular case if you want to. I am unsure if this was the correct forum for this thread, but i hope it is ok to post it here...

My first effort was a cartoon in the school yearbook, a design for the end of year revue, then a newspaper looking for submissions from students (collected by the art teacher, I didn't go out of my way for it, but I got half a page), and then a few cartoons and caricateurs for the university paper, a few poems in the free art paper (it was national, so that's something), in a poetry collection of the club (a pretty awful effort they chose, but it was a pretty awful collection as well), but best of all:

It seems things are picking up, i hope this year i can get some more work published here and there. I also expect a reply from two publishing houses...

I had around 10 stories published online up to now (some in more than one place) but only 1 in printed form, and the second seems to be arriving this February :D
My end game of course is to manage to attract the attention of publishing houses, so as to form a book, either of published work, or the stories which have not yet been published anywhere.
Unfortunately here we do not have any literary agents, so it is very hard to get noticed. But i am hopeful...

Pending is also the result of a literary contest i took part in... It was a flash fiction contest and i sent a 500 word little story. :)

I was 14th in the last competition i took part in... I hope for a better position this time.

More news: i was asked yesterday for a short biographical note, along with a small photograph, to be published alongside the story.

You do it because you can't not do it. And because by doing it, you are able to experience and cherish the truth of creativity. Yes. Amidst all this.
