I've never read any of his fiction (he is the author of among other novels the Legend of Bager Vance which I may have spelled or written wrong) and have no idea if he has written any other non-fiction novels but I recently read this book. It's quite short and I was able to read it in a day but I loved every bit of it and could hardly put it down. The book basically starts by discussing the human trait of resistance. He discusses how we all make excuses and procrastinate (of course some worse than others) when change is involved. Essentially we've evolved to dislike any form of change even if it's a positive step. This sounds very basic and in a way it is but he lays it out and personifies this trait much better than I can explain it. The second part is basically how to begin to make changes and the third part is about becoming a pro at beating resistance. I can't do it justice in this post but I can't recommend this piece of work enough. I'm a horrible procrasinater and this gave me a ton of insight. I don't often make such statements but I'd call this book nothing less than life changing. Any thoughts from those who have or haven't read this novel are much appreciated.
