Hey Im currently in the middle of "A Game of Thrones" and I have only heard good things about a Song of Ice and Fir think its a really sweet series and from what I've seen, the HBO series has done a justice.

I read it, and I found it lacking in depth. There were lots of minor actins, but nothing changed. Although he made a lot of money form it; I don't understand why he pothered writing it, unless it was just for money.

He didn't make much money off it untill last year, due to HBO. For 15 years it was pretty obscure. Sweeping change is not a huge part of fantasy, but I would say Martin exacts more change than many fantasy writers.
