looking for lost short story, i have plot

hello, all --

i am looking for the title (and text if possible) of a short story i read a long time ago. the story is of a woman whose son dies. her life is empty until she starts dreaming of riding horses with her son thru the hills. every night she sleeps longer and longer to rejoin her son in her dreams. eventually she sleeps almost all the time; being with her son in her dreams is the only time she is happy.

any ideas?
