Okay, I know that it is technically against forum rules to advertise one's personal website, but I really hope Admin will make an exception in this case. I'm not trying to sell anything, or make my website really popular or anything like that, I just want to share the poetry I have written that is on my website.

Emily Dickinson is in my opinion the greatest poet ever. And a lot of my poetry is inspired by her work or has similar themes.

My Favourite Poems And Favourite Dickinson Poems: Click Here (http://www.lawrence-lai.ca/6/category/poems/1.html).

I encourage all comments on my poetry or my favourite poems to be posted in this thread/forum. It's just so hard to be a poet without an audience or to express without anyone to express to. And obviously fans of Emily Dickinson would probably be the best audience.

Again, to the moderaters, I very humbly ask that you don't delete my post.

Hmmmm, I feel as if I should get a conversation going.

Does anyone know of any poems or poets influenced by Dickinson's work? It's probably a dumb question because I know she became highly influential, but I myself don't know of anyone in particular.

I also don't know of any, so it's definitely not a dumb question. However if we consider ourselves poets then I guess that is the answer in itself.

I wrote a song based on poem (303) called Soul Society. You can check it out here, hope you enjoy! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1v7vWj20ko&feature=share

Beautiful song and interpretation.

I consider Emily Dickinson one of my favorite poets and have penned an homage to her on a few occasions (Two Butterflies, For Emily (Happy Birthday))... perhaps I have been influenced by her minimalistic efforts in some manner... I'd like to think so.

An aside: I read everything I can about Emily and came across this the other day: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1891/10/emily-dickinsons-letters/306524/

and this today: http://www.edickinson.org/faq#2
