Hello all.

Anyone read this trilogy? It's a fascinating read I thought. Weird cutlural boundaries abound and it has that "chilly" sense you sometimes get from Japaneese literature, but in some ways this is more profound and poingiant than something a little warmer at times due to the desperate passivity and deep love of the main protagonists. Plus, I think the translation misses some of the finer naunces of the novel in that sometimes two paragraphs seem to say almost exactly the same thing, or at the very list the first will render the second redundant - not that I'm saying the translation is bad, but you know how it can go.

Any thoughts?

Any thoughts on the ending?

Lovely, thank you. I will have a nose at that.

Thanks also for the welcome, though I've actually been coming here a little longer than you
