I'm terrible at introduction posts but here goes.

Hello!
I've been thinking about finding a nice literature forum to peruse for some time now and with Christmas over I find I have the time again to sit on the internet and meet some lovely new people.

I'm 24 and live in England, in a small town where nothing really exciting ever happens. I have a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing that I graduated from in 2011 and am now trying to figure out something to do with it.

Seems a bit cliché to say that I love to read, but it's true. My bookshelves are overflowing and I've just bought a Kindle to help with this dilemma of space.

I write a bit of my own too. Mostly urban fantasy and steampunk/gaslamp type adventure.

Hope to find some good literary discussions on here, as I find myself missing them from my Uni days!

Know exactly what you mean there.

Welcome BrassRose, hopefully you will find some stimulating topics, and perhaps share some of your work. I, admittedly, have no idea what "urban fantasy" consists of, beyond what the name suggests.

Pretty much 'modern' fantasy. Set in our present time frame or alternate version thereof. Mostly centred around the city and urban sprawl. :)

I guess it's just a fancy way of differentiating from epic traditional fantasy with ye olde sword fighting and outside lavatories.
