I was born in Cookstown, Ontario, Canada in 1933 and graduated from Victoria College, University of Toronto, in 1955. I was taught by Professor Northrop Frye and met my husband, Thomas, whlie working on the campus newspaper. We co-owned a weekly community newspaper in Aylmer (now called Gatineau), Quebec, where we live. It is across the river from Canada's capital of Ottawa. My first book, A Book of Kells, Growing Up in an Ego Void, is a family memoir emphasizing two themes: (1) my parents' love story and northern adventures and (2) my miserable but eventually successful efforts at growing up as the third of three "perfect" minister's daughters. My second book, Eating at Church, is a collection of recipes from two churches celebrating a combined anniversary totalling 350 years. It was inspired by having enjoyed decades of Strawberry Socials, Harvest Suppers and Silver Teas. Kathleen's Cariole Ride is my third book. It's the one I always promised my parents' ghosts, myself, and my sisters I would write to honor them but I didn't envisage it would be an ebook!
