View Full Version : Server not responding?

Over the past few days I've been having real trouble accessing Litnet - it's very hit and miss. I'm assuming the access problems are to do with Litnet servers (perhaps being overwhelmed?) as I'm getting 'server not responding' messages and the access issues are occurring in different locations e.g. at work and at home and with different browsers (Internet Explorer and Safari). Are there any problems with the site? I don't seem to have much problem accessing in the morning (GMT - up until around 10am) but after then it's really hit and miss and in the evening (from about 6pm GMT onwards) I can't seem to get on the site at all.

Anyone else having problems?

I'm pretty sure everyone had the problem (a day ago or something?). I think I've had a bit of the problem since then, here and there, maybe nothing unusual, not sure. But for a long while there (hours, I think), there were no (or almost no) new comments posted in the forum when I managed to eventually check for new comments.

I don't know if it was a ddos attack or what, but I ended up having to ban the entire countries of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

I had a terrible time accessing lit-net for a few days; it finally seems to be getting better.

Haha, that's kind of funny actually. Good thing we don't have any regulars from Russia, Ukraine or Belarus.

So it took the banning of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus to stem the tide? That is a bit of a tall order, and I agree: It has major dos attack written all over it.

Perhaps Tolstoy fans were behind it.

doubtful, I think. They'd all be too busy twiddling their thumbs and living in anarcho-syndacalist communes.... :D

Sadly, the spammer's not from any of those either.
