At this level there is no relief

Tires melt and meld with the road

Cold tap water is pre-steamed

Every joint chaffs ready to rash

Noise from the radio is grey hot

This is the hottest New Year's
For hundred and twenty years

And the music after can't cut it

A planet orbiting closer, too close

And a sun that just shrugs it off

What? Hah! Hot? Bloody amateurs
Don't know the meaning of the -

As we spiral ever down to where

Mercury bakes, cracks, crumbles

Crust relentlessly splits, buckling

Well it ain't that bad fortunately

But who'd guess from the bright

Red boiling lobster children frying

Near the jetty to prove a recipe

For a week long blistering misery

Serves 'em right serves 'em right

This seems to be about the earth falling toward the sun or a heat wave or something. The last bit seems to get away from making sense a bit, syntactically speaking:

But who'd guess from the bright

Red boiling lobster children frying

Near the jetty to prove a recipe

For a week long blistering misery

I liked it. It was fun and full of strangeness.

Ah, ah MM, I sympathize, of course, though while frying, you have offered us some good fun from under - I hope - your fast spinning fan!!! I'll PM you (in order not to steal the scene here) my own experience regarding heat... nicely done! Bar
