An analysis of what happiness is would be useful. The causes of that may then follow. There are various levels on which you can discuss this though.

How shall we start.
One can propose a concept/idea and we can take it from there.
Or
we can eliminate what does not represent happiness first then what we have left is what might/may constitute happiness.
For example happiness is not sulking/depressing over triviality which is usually a sign that one does not understand or process one's feelings and others'.

Are you saying that happiness is self knowledge and experience of dealing with others?

I am saying let's one idea and expend from it.
But YES this is one possibility.
Why is there a problem?

Happiness is as much a self-rewarding state of mind as anything. What makes one person happy might well make another morose. I'm sure there are some individuals out there who enjoy a good sulk or thrive on analysing trivialities. As an universal concept it's more complex than one might think.

Yes!!! :biggrin5:
No...no problem.
Self knowledge = knowing what actions will make you happy.
Knowledge of others = keeping them happy so that maximum happiness can be achieved for the maximum amount of time for ever.
I can see a problem with this though.

I don't think you can find it; I think it just happens. FOR AMURICA :patriot:
Everyone in existence attempts to achieve happiness. Often times it is either to make themselves happy or some one else happy. Think of a current goal in your life, for example, you might want a promotion. That promotion will bring you money, money will bring you conformability, and comfortability will you bring you happiness down the road. Every little goal, will eventually contribute to happiness.
In Hamlet, Hamlet seeks to kill his Uncle, King Claudius. By killing his uncle, he will avenge his father's death, and feel comfortable that his revenge and justice is properly served. He thinks, by doing this, the riot in his mind will dim.
