Im from sunny worthing in England but its pissing with rain!
I am Van Henden i enjoy reading very much at the moment im re reading d h laurence why does that guy get into my head more then any other writer?.
I know he had great insight into human nature and his style of writing is so beutiful I have read thousands of books but dh laurence and Thomas hardy seem to stand alone in my opinion maybe im old fasioned but some of the mordern books are do dire and dumb down and not really a challenge to read at all.
I know and enjoy the benefits to reading as it fills the mind and stimulates more then reality sometimes and it helps improve my vocal ability.
I was at a pub talking to random group of strangers and what i found so frustrating was there limited use of language and unimaginitive minds the conversation as so often became caustic crude and makes want to scream at them that you are near forty years of age and thats your level of mind and your poor attempt to have a inteligent conversation .
Why is there so many dullards walking on this planet or blank canvasses that when you loook at them you see they are not much going on between their ears.
This is mainly a attack on the lower working classes.
I am working class but i wish they would read more stop watching **** reality shows and cultivate there minds instead of stagnating with garbage meduims also computers and those bloody smart phones should be used on a loimited basis.
I read that only 3% of the population read books that is a sad reflectin on society.
So its probaly 1% that read some decent level books not the crap mordern lit.
Also only 12% read a news papers.
I was talking about this to a freind about this what annoys me is those people that only use a 800 word vocabuary and will use the same awful words repeatfully thinking they are wonder company!!!!.
I enjyo cycling and hope to bench press 300 pounds in a year im at 253 pounds i enoy weight training and reading at the moment sorry for my rant but the local pub is infested with these people over the christmas peroid.
I sometimes like my own company i play squash and there the people are more to my likeing as they have more education and better to talk to.
My writers are dh laurence ,hardy .orwell .london, Henry miller.
