To me this is certainly the best action young adult book I've ever read. It has all the elements I love: action, mystery, romance... What really sells me about the book is its ability to execute scenes at the right time, touching you in ways unexpected. Also unlike many young adult fictions this book is also pretty amazing on character development, the writing style is mild and has a pretty nice flow to it. At least it's not as intolerable as Twilight :brickwall

I had to read this book in a Children's Lit class I took. While I enjoyed the book well enough, I must admit that I did not become as enamored with it as so many other people to have been and I have not quite felt the urge to continue on with the series. Though I do not mean that as anything against the book. But devoting oneself to a series takes such a considerable amount of time that I have to become really engaged in a book to want to do so. But I did enjoy the characters within the book, and the over all story. Dystopia is a favorite genre of mine.

Then I strongly recommend Feed by M.T. Anderson. It is another book I had to read for my Children's lit. class and it was one of my favorites we read.

Also another girl told me about a book that she said is like an adult version of Hunger Games called Battle Royale. I haven't read it yet but I own a copy of it.

I love these series with everything! I love the romance and suspense of it all. I have yet to finish the third book and I am kinda nervous about the ending :toetap05: . I have heard it like sucks. And I hate coming into a last book knowing that. But ugh. I love this series and really can't wait for the movie. Collins is an amazing author and her language and everything is just beautiful, not too wordy but I can still paint the picture she's trying to show. :yesnod: .
