what is your opening line?

I thought we could devise a game where we suggest a plot for a story then each of us writes an opening line, no more then two lines.
after TEN/FIVE entries depending on how long it takes , not more then one day I would say, someone or I will decide which one is the best.
The winner gets to chose the next plot.

The Plot


the story is about five characters from all walks of life meeting at random and deciding to write a time capsule

Thunder in November

If the night had been violently stormy, the thunder would have been totally unremarkable. But out of a clear night in a November unseasonably warm, it was as if Thor had lost control of his hammer, and Götterdämmerung was upon us!
