Amazon has announced that the Kindle is this Christmas' biggest seller by far, easily outstripping last years traditional gifts such as books, dvds, watches and jewelery.

What tools do you need to publish an on the Kindle?

Word if you already have it, or Open Office if not. You have to save it as an html doc to submit. (There are purchasable programs which claim to be somehow 'perfect', but user feedback would indicate otherwise)

There's a wad of info on the site itself, but the first thing is just to register with Amazon - you don't need to buy anything. Probably also wise to set up a Paypal account for royalties, which I already had for a different reason.
