It almost seems redundant
to write of you again,
about the summer and his magic
and the winter's goddess pull.
But as the summer danced his spells
the winter's eyes whimpered
like pups at the shelter
(begging for your comfort).
And I admit your missed
beloved
and adored.
But like a shade you vanish
hidden in your art.

Hear me howl old friend
the moon is full
and in her crater rock,
I am staring down to you.

Is this a tribute to a pet? Like the thing from Gremlins (guessing a dog named for the creature from Gremlins)?

This reader takes it this way and has now figured you for an animal lover- the wolf avatar might be influencing that too much though.

The last stanza was this reader's favorite part. Can't figure out about summer dancing magic and having his spell, but winter seems to pull and whimper like a dog on a leash. Anyways, a good one to read.

In a sense. It's about a friend of mine, who day by day seems to grow distant from me, but is very dear to my heart. I first met her by the nickname Furby, which reminded me of gizmo so I nicknamed her gizmo, but on her request a while back I wrote her a song called Gizmo, so I titled this by gizmo's species name.
