Hi! I'm Phlogiston and I just got interested in reading Shakespeare. I've seen many productions but have never actually read any source material, analysis or criticism. I was inspired by two things; 1) Read Shakespeare Wars by Ron Rosenbaum and 2) got tickets for Richard III with Kevin Spacey at BAM.
Purchased The Arden Shakespeare, Richard III byJames R. Simon. Tough going but enjoying it. Can anyone tell me what this means?:
sig. C3R or sig. E1V &c. Seems to be a ubiquitous form of notation in literature about Shakespeare.
