I think that 1984 is a great book and it should be read both in high school and in college. It is a great book and George Orwell warns you about many things. Although his writing is a little difficult I believe that high school student can handle it.

Orwell has an interesting way of writing. He has many warnings in his writing. I recommend George Orwells' 1984, to High School students, it is a great book. 1984 keeps you on your toes and makes you want to know what happens i the end, it has some questionable parts but they just make the book better in my opinion.

One word..fun(:

Honestly, i think 1984 is a very difficult read. It's hard to read and understand, even when someone explains it. i believe 1984 should be taught in upper grades in highschool and/or in college. I feel like people between these ages would have an easier time reading it, but once you do understand it. its quite an interesting read. Not because of the book itself but because of the unlimited messages Orwell is trying to send to us.

I'm not sure it's as simple as dividing students by grade in order to determine when 1984 should be read. Many highschoolers probably wouldn't understand a lot of the messages, but there are also advanced readers that can comprehend a large number of Orwell's ideas. I also believe that no matter how old or mature you are, you need to understand the time period this was written in, and the influence that global events had on Orwell.
