View Full Version : What do you think is more important, individual rights or the good of society?

I think it depends on the situation. But you cannot run a society with that. Everything has to be equal. If one person is not searched for drugs, does that mean you can't search a different person? Is it better to have a better community as a whole? Or a couple people that a happy? I think it has it's pros and cons to each situation.

Individuals rights because once that is established then ''good'' society fall into place naturally.
If people's rights are jeoperdised then society is too.
Poeple make society.
A bit like if people are happy then the world is, if people are maltreated and exploited and have no rights then society is corrupt and has no control over anyhting or anyone.

I have not looked at it like that. But look what individual rights have done to the US! It's corrupt and no one is happy. In history class, I have never heard "then the people were happy and they lived happily ever after." I like what you're saying but people just aren't happy, they're greedy, they abuse their rights, and they try to push the law.
