Greetings everyone! I've just joined this Network and Id like to say something about my research interests:
My main concerns are in the general field of landscape studies and, particularly, theoretical aspects of landscape appreciation. I am the moderator of an on-line discussion group on the subject and Editor of a website (http://www.freewebs.com/jorgeg/)that includes Essays on that and related topics.
As to a question that may arise: What is a landscape-chap doing in a Literary Network?
Answer is that lately I've been concerned with the adoption of notions and methods of literary theories to aspects of landscape theories. Since the former are far more advanced than the latter, I thought a good idea to borrow from one to the other. A good example of this borrowing is in what I've called landscape genres, which may be modelled according to ideas of the likes of Fowler, Frye, Todorov, Bakhtin and others. See This Link (http://landsgenre.webs.com/onusefulnessofgenres.htm):
So, I am here hoping to find some people more knowledgeable of Literature than myself which may happen to be interested on crossing barriers between those two fields of enquiry...and hopefully others.
