Hi there,
the very beginning of this story reads: "It was Lady Windermere’s last reception before Easter, and Bentinck House was even more crowded than usual. Six Cabinet Ministers had come on from the Speaker’s Levée in their stars and ribands..."
Now, I would like to know what that Speaker's Levée exactly is, though I guess the Speaker is the presiding officer of the House of Commons and that Levée some kind of political ceremony... Do you have any more precise idea?
Thanks
