hi guys,
am writing a piece of research about understanding literature through non-native speaker eyes(mainly will depend on Arab). i will count in this research on surveys. I will hand a piece of literature (poem or short story) and i will ask their opinon.

This research mainly will depend on student/ teachers and anyone who talk English. I will hand a questionnaire, compare their answers with the native speakers explanation and build a thesis statement depending on the answers. After all that, i will write a paper about the conflict in understanding literature between foreigners(Arab) and the native speakers. Naturally the psychologically and linguistics theories will apply on this research..

i think to name the research "the conflict in understanding english literarure among socities" or "English literature thruogh Arab cultural"
which one is beteer? can you suggest another title please?

what should I include in this research? What type of question should I include in this research?
any suggestions?

please i really can use your help guys :coolgleamA:

Well your first priority should be to determine what piece of literature you will use for your research. I recommend trying to find one that you can somewhat hypothesis the different interpretation for both the Arab and the English audience. The topic may be of love, politics, society or something else.

This makes the research not so much about a conflict as that somewhat suggests that these opinions clash and not that each caters for its own specific ideal. Maybe contrast would be a better choice of words.

In the research you would highlight the main issue that the literature held for each person whether it be the story, characters, relationships etc.
