Mistress in the art of death by Ariana Franklin or

Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott

What I'd do is start with Mistress in the Art of Death. If It's good, continue to the end and then begin Ivanhoe. If Mistress is boring, then put it down and start with Ivanhoe. Then if Ivanhoe is boring, try Charlotte's Web.
