Im finding Great Expectations really boring too. I wish Charles Dickens didn't have to write for pages and pages about something that could be written in one paragraph!I don't think that is an effective way to get his point across. I have stopped reading the book and have resorted to looking through websites for help!

Im a student too and I know what you mean. Take some advice, don't bother reading it! Just look through some websites and they will have everything you need to know!

I agree! Through reading the long and ardous Great Expectations I found myself falling asleep and my mind wandering. I am glad that my supposed "cynical nature" is shared by another student.

You may not find the book interesting, but you can't take shortcuts your whole life. Deal with it. Life is never easy. In the scheme of things, I'm sure you'll look back and think that reading that book was not the worst thing ever. AND most teachers search websites and cliff notes and most questions on tests or finals will not relate to anything they mention.

I agree with you. I have to read this book for a project for school and even though I finished reading the whole book, I didn't understand a thing.

I have to admit that I thought that Great Expectations was boring at first too, but I kept at it and found it to be a beautifully developed novel! Keep at it, and maybe you'll end up really appreciating it like me. You might end up crying during the last chapter too.

Yea I know what you mean. I read really fast most of the time, but this book took me forever. It just wouldnt end
I am finding myself getting incredibly bored reading this book, and I'm only on chapter seven. I know it is probably because i am a student that i do find it boring and therefore cannot respect the style of the writing. None the less i still am bored reading this novel and i wish i didn't have to read it for a project.
